The Sentinel team has been attending many equine shows, promoting the Sentinel brand and engaging with horse owners from near and far.
April is always a big month for Sentinel, appearing at several consumer trade shows. Our goals at these shows have been to increase brand awareness, educate about extruded feed and engage with horse owners, overall creating a memorable experience to drive them into your stores and increase horse feed business! This year, Sentinel attended:
- April 11-13: Midwest Horse Fair in Madison, Wisconsin.
- April 10-13: Equine Affaire in Columbus, Ohio.
- April 25-27: Minnesota Horse Fair in Shokopee, Minnesota.
- April 24-27: Defender Kentucky Three Day Event in Lexington, Kentucky.
As we connected with horse owners, we also cross promoted Native Dog Food at these events, as research has told us that over 90% of horse owners are also dog owners. The interest our brands received at these events was tremendous. We captured highly qualified leads, with a 22% increase in the number of leads from last year. These contacts will be enrolled in our various targeted email campaigns, where we will continue to engage them through personalized content, including education, nutritional advice, fun tips and coupon offers to drive them to your store.
Our attendance and activities at these shows were promoted digitally and in print with many activation components. Sentinel also sponsored the Practical Horseman’s social media coverage of Defender Kentucky Three Day Event, web articles, print and email. The Practical Horseman posted about the event throughout its entirety and every post tagged our social media accounts.

Horse owners stopped by the booth to share a picture of their horse with us. We printed out their polaroid picture and filled four of these boards with them.
Sentinel hosted meet and greets with our 5* eventing ambassadors, Sharon White and Ema Klugman.
Our bucket giveaways at any show are always a hit and attract lines of people each time.
We have had grand prizes at all of our spring shows, including free feed and/or an RTIC Sentinel cooler backpack.
